So what?

I just had a thought.

There's no way to blame others for their actions.
One can only despise them.

actions are often a result of impulse..and impulse is something that is somewhat spontaneous..and it s pretty hard to control..so you cant really blame someone for their actions..true..but you cant despise their actions either..just the consequences that their actions give rise to..right? (especially if those consequences don't quite suit you..)

What I meant goes something like this...

There are innumerable reasons why people - and by extension, countries do things. Self interest, defense, perhaps even just for the heck of it. There's no way of telling what exactly the purpose was - especially when it comes to a country. After all, at the end of the day, it's some person who signs the instructions. Maybe he had no choice. Maybe he thought it was the right thing to do.

There's no way to turn around and say "I wouldn't have done that", cause you never really know until you're in that situation yourself. Especially if the consequences aren't what you would want - that's just the wisdom of hindsight, which all said and done, comes a little too late to be of any help.

Therefore.

There's no real way to blame someone for their actions. One can only despise them.

There's a bunch of stuff that you'd have to do, I guess.

First is making the site. That's pretty much your call, I suppose, since it's your project.

Secondly, you have to get people to it. Parents, mostly, since I guess they'd have the maximum influence on the kids.

Third is the followup. Career counselling sites/places, etc, etc. There's a bunch of people already in the buisness - Viral (Veeral) Doshi, that woman who writes for the Education Times, et al. Career Launcher even.

Umm.

Get them young is what I'd say. Sessions at schools, stuff like that. Emails. Letters. Hell, once you make a name for yourself, go straight to the Boards - ISC and CBSE. You could have a tie up with them.

Seriously. The Youth Parliament. They've already got a working infrastructure, and I'm sure they'd be interested in a project like this.

I have a problem with that!
Let the kids be for gods sake! Has anyone ever wondered what all the fuss over Class X board exams were? The count for squat, especially if your not in Junior college system like in mumbai. If u really want to make a difference to people's careers, you really have to let them come to you. Let them explore before that!

except that when you do 'blame someone for thier actions, you blame their decision making capabiility'. The action is moot once the decision has been made. And the decision making capability IS something that may be blamed. You learn how to make better decisions, hence making a wrong/bad one just means that you haven't learnt how yet!
